S'Mores
[Kamuya & Açaí]

An unexpected start to the residency. Just before the first trips to Oporto, Kamuya invited me over to photograph one of his more recent collaborators: Açaí. This hot Saturday afternoon in July was filled with songwriting moments. The name S'mores comes from one of the random lines. A souvenir to go in hand with the photos.

Foz
[Filipa Alves]

I met Filipa about a decade ago, and recently reconnected. I had the chance to catch her in Oporto, and always thought of her connection with the sea. That's why it made perfect sense to visit the Foz area of the city, lighthouse included.

The European Dream
[Inês Yebra]

Inês has been, for a long time, a great supporter of my artistic endeavours. Back in 2016, she even took the challenge of memorizing and saying some lines for a terrible short-film I tried to do. Things happen, but Inês has always stood tall. Finally, after so many years, we went for a walk along some streets named after cities. Av. de Paris, Av. de Roma, Praça de Londres... A small sample of what Lisbon has to offer.

summer bank
[Inês Yebra]

The story continues near the CGD bank headquarters, with a beautiful architecture, and one of the most intriguing domes in Lisboa.

Studio 4 Sessions
[Raquel Rafael]

Raquel has been a creative champion in the theatre scene in Oporto. Betting on a free, experimentalism approach, the idea behind Studio 4 was one where anything could happen. An empty space suddenly tells its own story. That's why the miscellaneous outfits somehow work together, showing us a bit of what's hiding in the soul.

Studio 4 Sessions
[Beatriz Costa]

Beatriz has quickly became a staple model in my short career. With a ballet background, expressionism comes natural to her, and the emptiness of Studio 4 allows for endless possibilities.

SIRENS
[Beatriz Costa]

I blame Kamuya for kickstarting the Travis Scott inspiration. Utopia had just released to great acclaim, and it was definitely the album for the Summer. While we were only able to approach two concepts - I'm hoping to conclude the trilogy in 2024 - SIRENS works as a prequel to the main event that's F!END.The close knit streets of downtown Oporto were perfect to showcase Beatriz in a street element, building up to what comes next...

F!END
[Beatriz Costa]

What I like to call "The Main Event". The Residency was built around this set. By the time we shot this, I had passed by Campanhã Train Station more than a dozen times, coming to and from the city. Seeing it light up in the Summer darkness sparked the idea, and all it needed was a concept.Fortunately, Travis Scott's F!EN became a massive worldwide hit, and inspiration struck by making Beatriz the main character. The dreamlike state of certain portraits, allied with the simplicity of the day-to-day life catching a train, brought everything perfectly together. Here's hoping this year she'll get her epilogue moment.

S T A T I C // K I L L E R
[Daniela Charrua]

Shortly after returning to Lisbon, I had to do one last set. I had this one on my list for a while. In a way, years even, as this tunnel in Entre Campos has been on my notepad for a very long time. What better way to showcase a homage to the Final Girl statue with a horror fan like Daniela.
